THE BRIEF
To create a traditional English garden with a modern twist to compliment a large family house which had been recently extended with a contemporary orangery.
The client favoured natural materials, loose naturalistic planting and asked for a bespoke water feature which would become a focal point for the garden.
The final design includes a more formal terrace close to the house, whilst organic shapes creep in further down the garden, culminating in a curved paddle stone feature water wall. Loose and pretty planting is contained by structural evergreen hedging which doubles up as protection from family games of football. Handmade oak and woven hazel panels provide year-round screening and structure.
There is a lovely organic naturalistic atmosphere in this garden which will only improve with age. We look forward to seeing moss and ferns gradually occupying the water wall and the natural silvering of the English Oak adding character to this garden over the coming years.
