The Brief
To turn a dark, neglected north-facing garden into a crisp and contemporary multifunctional garden, with clean lines and a refined colour palette.
The clients were already working with an interior designer to completely renovate the town house. We worked closely with both parties to make sure that the aesthetic of the garden reflected that of the interior whilst also ensuring that the outdoor space delivered as a place to entertain, relax and play.
Large format porcelain paving links the kitchen to the garden and provides clean lines around the lawn and planting. A raised composite deck allowed us to make a feature of a mature multi-trunk bay tree, and the generous built-in seating and bespoke table provide plenty of space to relax and entertain. Furthermore, we designed a storage unit that doubles as a treehouse for the boys and blends pleasingly into the background.
As the planting fills out the elegant white and green theme will enhance the hard landscaping and help bring the garden to life at night along with the soft lighting scheme.
